PRO-MAG 12LT for
for Sprint Cars

Sprint Car racing demands the most from every component on the car. MSD under-stands this need and has developed a variety of Pro Mag components that are directly designed for Sprint Cars. The next four pages highlight Pro Mags and components engineered for Sprints.

The 12LT was designed specifically for Sprint Car racing where every ounce counts. MSD engineers were able to reduce the weight (by almost 30%!) and size of the 12 Amp Pro Mag for a better fit behind injector stacks.

The 12LT is available for Chevy, Ford and Chrysler engines. Each application uses a billet aluminum housing that the generator assembly mounts to. With the lower housing clamped into position in the engine, any timing changes can be made by simply loosening the band clamp and rotating the generator. This saves time and is much easier than having to rotate the entire lower housing assembly.

Each generator is supplied with a special cap and rotor, bronze gear and connectors. An Electronic Points Box must be used.

ELECTRONIC POINTS BOX

The Electronic Points Box controls the spark duration and the full power firing of the Pro Mag 12. MSD offers two Electronic Points Boxes that can be used with the Pro Mag 12LT generators. The main difference between the two boxes is the built-in Coil. The PN 8105 Box is designed for shorter duration racing, such as races under 50 laps. The other Box, PN 8106, is suited for longer endurance events.

Both Points Boxes have a built-in Soft Touch Rev Control that will save your engine in the event of driveline failure or a wreck. The rpm limit is adjusted with plug-in modules and will produce a smooth, accurate limit.

Electronic Points Box PN 8105

• Standard
• Less than 50 lap events
• Requires 200-250 cranking rpm

Electronic Points Box PN 8106

• Extra Endurance
• Recommended for races longer than 50 laps
• Requires 200-250 cranking rpm

Note: Vibration Mounts are supplied along with matching connectors and 6,000, 7,000 and 8,000 rpm modules.ades
